The PRP facial (aka, the Vampire Facial) uses an ingenious technique to tap into the bodies self healing power in order to regenerate skin and reverse the signs of aging.
Your blood, specifically the plasma or the clear part of the blood, contains proteins that enrich the tissue. In addition, platelets contain growth factors another healing elements.
In the PRP facial procedure, a small amount of your blood is drawn into a specialized vial. It is then spun down in a precise manner separating the red and white blood cells from the clear plasma and platelets. The platelet rich plasma (PRP) are then spread evenly over the skin. Micro-needling is then used to push the PRP Into the skin. By combining the power of micro-needling with the healing dynamics of plasma and platelets, the effect on the skin is powerful anti-aging, growing new blood cells, new fat cells and new collagen cells. The skin will become tighter, pores will shrink, color will improve, fine lines and wrinkles will diminish.

What is PRP: Platelet Rich Plasma Protein
Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. The PRP, injected into specific areas of the skin, act as a matrix that promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue, and thus acts as to naturally smooth and tighten the skin.
What is micro-needling?
The body has a remarkable capacity to heal itself. That self healing potential is put to use in the micro-needling technique of skin rejuvenation. This technique has been around for many years. It is simple, elegant, and effective. By using tiny, painless micro-needles to puncture the skin, thousands of "micro-channels" are created all over the skin surface. This triggers a healing response from the body causing it to make new collagen and new blood vessels, leading to thicker more youthful skin. The changes are permanent, and they are made of your own cells.
How does the procedure work?
First the skin is anesthetized. Then, the PRP is spread on the skin surface allowing the micro-needle device to glide over the skin creating thousands of tiny "micro-channels" in an even pattern across the entire surface to be treated. The depth and speed of the micro-needling will vary depending on the surface being treated. You can anticipate spending about one hour at the I.M. 120 from beginning to end of the procedure.
Does it hurt?
At I.M. 120, we use a special topical numbing cream that will eliminate any pain from the procedure. Most of our clients feel no pain at all during or after the treatment. If any do feel pain they rate it as a 1out of a 10.
Can I go to work the same day?
Immediately after the treatment the skin will look a bit red and irritated, and may be presentable for every day activities. Whether or not you go back to work depends on your own circumstances. You will not be able to put on camouflage makeup the day of the treatment. Two days after the treatment (on average) your skin will have no trace of micro-needling.
How long until I will see benefit?
Many clients perceive an immediate improvement in the color and quality of their skin. It can take a month or longer for all of the new cells to form and for the full effect to be noticed.
Can I combine micro needling with other treatments?
Yes! In fact micro-needling is a component of many other combinations. The results are typically superior when procedures are combined. The best combinations will be discussed during your consultation.
PRP Rejuvenation / PRP Facial Options
Option 1: PRP injection + hyaluronic acid (dermal fillers) + micro-needling = most significant improvement
Option 2: PRP injection + hyaluronic acid = 2nd most significant improvement
Option 3: PRP Injection Therapy = 3rd most significant improvement
Option 4: PRP Facial (micro-needling)
How do I care for my face after the treatment?
At I.M. 120, we enhance the treatment with a post micro-needling facial mask that is cool, soothing and therapeutic. You will also be given advice regarding the best products to enhance your outcome.
What are the potential adverse effects?
This procedure is almost free of any serious adverse effect. However, there is potential for infection to occur anytime the skin is punctured. There is potential for unexpected changes in pigment of the skin, such as darkening. Although the anesthesia is highly effective, some clients perceive minor pain during the treatment.
How often can I micro-needle?
Micro-needling can be performed every three months. The frequency will depend on your skin condition and the treatment objectives. In some cases, once a year will be adequate to preserve your skin and prevent aging.
What if I have a blood borne disease or chronic illness, can you still use my blood?
Yes. Because it is your own blood there is no increased risk of amplifying any medical condition you currently have. Other individual circumstances will be evaluated at the time of your consultation.
Add I.M. 120’s "Growth Hormone" Booster to any PRP treatment
Growth hormone is essential for new tissue generation. Its use can improve the texture and quality of skin, collagen, and other components of soft tissue.
At I.M. 120 we have developed a protocol using injectable growth hormone boosters to enhance the effect of our antiaging treatments. The protocol does not involve using growth hormone itself, but rather uses a daily injection of the hormone that stimulates your body to produce more of its own growth hormone. The needles used are tiny and can barely be perceived as they are injected. The recommended cycle of treatment is for 30 days.
The anti-aging booster protocol uses a compounded substance manufactured at an FDA regulated sterile compounding facility. The boosting procedure itself is not FDA approved, and its use is based upon our clinical experience.
The booster treatment is appropriate for most of the anti-aging modalities. The use of this booster can be discussed at your consultation.
Add I.M. 120's "The Firm" Intravenous Collagen Booster to any PRP treatment
Vitamin C is a critical component in the formation of collagen. By giving high doses intravenously, along with other collagen forming vitamins (such as biotin) and supplements, the effect of your treatment can be enhanced.
We recommend an intravenous infusion the day of your treatment, and then a repeat infusion at weekly intervals for the next two weeks. In this manner you can concentrate the benefit during the time of the most dynamic healing from the treatment.
The intravenous boosters are safe and painless. They take about 20 minutes to infuse.
